Frequently asked questions

Everything about how Rewindior works, from sending your first memory to keeping your own copy.

How it works

What is Rewindior?

Rewindior is a private home for your memories. You send in the moments worth keeping, photos, notes, files, and it holds onto them for you. No feed, no algorithm, no strangers. Just your memories, somewhere they'll still be around when you want to look back.

How do I add a memory?

The easiest way is email. Every capsule gets its own address, so you send a message with whatever you want to keep and it lands in your capsule. You can also add memories straight from the web app if you'd rather upload them yourself.

Can I upload things directly, or does it have to be email?

Either works. Email is handy when you're out and about or forwarding something you already have. Direct upload from the web app is there for when you'd rather add things by hand, and it lets you attach bigger files, since email tops out at 35 MB per message.

What can I put in a capsule?

Photos, documents, and files, plus whatever you want to write. A quick note, a long letter to yourself, a batch of photos from a trip. If it's worth remembering, it belongs in a capsule.

What is a capsule, and what is a collection?

A capsule is a space for one part of your life. You might keep one for your kid, one for travel, one for the everyday stuff you don't want to forget. Collections live inside a capsule to help you organize, and you can nest them however makes sense to you.

What address do I send memories to?

Each capsule has its own email address. You'll find it in the web app once your capsule is set up, and you can save it to your contacts so it's easy to send to.

Can I change my capsule's email address?

On the Shared Basic and Shared Plus plans you can pick the part before @inbound.rewindior.app, so your capsule gets an address that's easy to remember and easy to share with family.

Can I lock a memory until a future date?

Yes. You can seal a single memory or a whole collection until a date you choose, and it stays hidden in the app until then. When the day arrives it opens on its own, and everyone in the capsule gets an email letting them know. Any backups in your own cloud storage aren't affected either way.

Sharing

Can other people add memories to my capsule?

Yes, and that's a lot of the point. You can invite family and friends to send memories in, so a moment gets remembered from more than one point of view.

How do I invite family or friends?

From the web app you send them an invite to your capsule. Once they're in, they can add their own memories the same way you do, by email or direct upload.

Do the people I invite need an account?

Yes. They set up an account so everything stays tied to the right capsule and your sharing controls hold.

Can I decide who sees what?

Yes. You control who's in a capsule and what they can see, so some memories stay just for you while others are shared with the people you invite.

Privacy and trust

Can you see my memories?

I won't pretend your memories are locked in a vault even I can't open. Running Rewindior means your content lives on servers I look after. What I can promise is that I don't sit around reading people's memories, and I don't mine them, sell them, or hand them to anyone without your say-so. The only time I'd ever touch your content is if you asked me to for support, or if the law left me no choice.

Do you sell my data or show ads?

No. No ads, no selling to third parties, no sharing without your say-so. Rewindior makes its money from plans, so I never have to make it off your memories.

Do you train AI on my memories?

No. Your memories are never used to train AI, mine or anyone else's. Full stop.

Where is my data kept?

Your memories are stored on Rewindior's own infrastructure. If you want a second copy somewhere you control, you can back everything up to your own cloud storage too.

Owning your memories

Can I keep my own copy?

Yes. You can back up every memory to your own cloud storage, so it lives somewhere you control and doesn't only sit with me.

Which cloud services can I back up to?

Google Drive, Dropbox, and OneDrive. Connect the one you already use and your memories get copied into your own account.

What happens if Rewindior shuts down?

You're never stuck. Because you can back up to your own Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive, you can keep a full copy somewhere that doesn't depend on Rewindior being around.

Can I delete everything?

Yes, whenever you want, no hoops. Delete a single memory or wipe the whole thing. One thing to know: anything already backed up to your own Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive stays there. I never delete from your external storage, even when you delete it in the app, so those copies are yours to remove.

Plans and billing

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The subscription plans come with a 14-day free trial, and you can cancel anytime.

What happens when my trial ends?

If you decide to stay, your plan kicks in. If it's not for you, cancel before the trial's up and you won't be charged.

What is the difference between the plans?

Mostly how many people can join, how many collections you can make, how big your files can be, and extras like a custom address and reminders. The pricing page lays it all out side by side.

What is the lifetime plan?

Lifetime Access is a one-time payment for your own personal memory space. Pay once and it's yours to keep, no subscription.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Subscriptions can be cancelled whenever you like, right from the app.

Do I get my own custom email address?

On the Shared Basic and Shared Plus plans, yes. You pick the part before @inbound.rewindior.app, so your capsule gets a memorable address that's easy to share and anyone can send memories in.

How large can my files be?

It depends on your plan, and each one has its own size limit per message. Email delivery handles up to 35 MB, and direct upload from the web app supports the full limit for your plan. The pricing page shows the limits.

How many people can I add?

That depends on your plan. The personal Lifetime plan is just you, and the Shared plans let you bring in family and friends. The pricing page shows how many members each one allows.
